CT Pet Expo Pics & Vids

This past Saturday, I drove to Hartford CT for their Pet Expo. I took photos in the dog area, and filled my memory card! So I never got any pics of the cats, boo hoo.

They have many vendors and lots and lots of rescue groups have booths there as well. The AKC presents some of the breeds on each day; would have loved to see the bichons, but they were scheduled for Sunday and I couldn't go on Sunday. Here are some of the dogs!

    Papillion

    Sibe

I think Portuguese Water Dog; NOPE, I've been corrected, it is a Black Russian Terrier!

    Bassett (just for Noba!)

    Afghan

I've never actually been able to touch an afghan before. Their paws are enormous, I was quite surprised!

This breed is newly admitted to AKC. This particular hound, his uncle is currently rated number one nation wide. His dad is also winning many, many Best of Breeds!

    Move pics, next post.

They also permit you to bring your own pets in to the Expo.

    Gorgeous!

The Homing Pigeon Club had many, MANY birds on disply, and they were answering questions!
This guy thinks he is the BEST!

    He never stopped showing off!

One of several exhibitions, was a Discus / Freestyle Dance group. They emphasize, if you try this at home, make sure you wear protection! they all have neoprene vests on.

This first video is a dog and owner, both relatively new to the competition scene.

This second one, they are more experienced. this dog, Timber, has been in the world championships several times and has WON!

Sorry I missed the ending; I filled my memory card for the first time ever!

    Hope you enjoyed!

Oh yes, I spent over an hour in the TICA cat show area. Just no photos. They had munchkins and toygers and a few other "designer" breeds. The Maine coons were GORGEOUS! and enormous too.

I can see how you used up your memory, so many gorgeous dogs to look at. Thanks for sharing. Next year you will have to start in the cat section.

Yes, you are right, it IS a Black Russian Terrier; I went back and edited the post to correct that. I took the photo because I hd seen one posted on craigslist, with no photo, and wanted to take a pic to remind me.
