    My bunny

My bunny was free because nobody at the police auction wanted him. He's old and worn, but I still love him. He looks like Blackavar from Watership Down, except in white, so I call him Blackavar. He kinda looks grumpy at the right angle.

Ok, so he's not real. I also got a $200 ferret cage in bad condition for $15. I've spent the day converting the rust to iron, and have painted it with pet-safe spray paint for metal. I'm thinking of using it for my rats, but the wires are almost an inch apart. Do you think an inch is enough space for an adult rat to get out?

Cute bunny! I had a ferret cage with 1" bar spacing and I kept six female rats in it. It worked fine for them.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

How nice of you to give an "unwanted" bunny a new home. And he won't cost a penny in feed and vet bills, either!

Nobody wanted him? It's a good thing you 'rescued' him. He's cute, I would have taken him.

Hehe, it looks like someone took a chunk out of Blackavar's ear. Poor thing.

The cage should be fine as long as your girls aren't on the small side.
I've kept my larger males in a ferret cage before, and they didn't have a problem with it.
Two of my girls are on the smaller side, and could get through 1" spacings fairly easy...
Just keep a close eye on them when they first move it, I'm sure they'll be alright.

I love Watership Down. And Plague Dogs. Maybe for the older or more mature kids though, bit of swearing in book and movie. The girls are a little small for the cage yet, but they love using it for a play toy. Plasti-kote spray enamel- great stuff. I've tried and tried to scratch it off to test it's durability, but I can't get any to come off.
