Some one told me a cat has to be at least 1 yr old in order to be neutered or else it won't work. is this true? she said the would still spray.

No, that is not true, Inkspot. Actually, from my experience, the sooner the better. Tubby was done as soon as the vet would allow it, and I've actually heard that if you wait until they are 1 year or older, that's when you have problems with them continuing to spray and such. I would check with your vet for specific details that pertain to you, but there is no reason to wait until they are that old.

I KNEW IT!
Our kitten Ashton is a little over a year old now, he was neutered at about 3 months old. Our kitten Twidgit was spayed before we adopted her at about 2 months old. Our puppy Ginger was spayed at about 4 1/2 months old.
I agree with everyone else, your vet will determine the correct age.

I have 3 male cats and they were all neutered before I adopted them. Storm was done sometime before he was a year old, Pepper was done at 8 weeks old and I adopted him at 9 weeks old, and Sunny was neutered at 6 months old. They have never sprayed and don't have any bladder problems so far. Whoever told you this info doesn't know what they're talking about.
