    Field trip Thursday-229!

How's about a field trip to a "pick your own" fruit farm?

It's almost time to pick apples, pumpkins and ????

    --------------

Grab your gloves, your hats and sunscreen.....

I'll pull the bus around to the front and everyone pile in!

    -----------

Got the Orc to load up some sandwiches and beer in the coolers!

    Yes,
Mario, you can work the bus door....

    OH,

Have you ever had a prickly pear?

IT's not a pear, but the fruit of a cactus......delicious! We'll have to look for some!

Woohoo! I love this time of year.

I wonder if there are any berries left on the blackberry and raspberry bushes. Raspberries are my fave!

    DONE!

    WR,
At Thursdays you can have both!

    DONE!

RICHARD, when I see one, I'll point it out to Orc then HE can pick it up and put it in the back of the bus. I hope it doesn't weigh too much or else the bus will be doing wheelies!

Persimmons! Such fond memories of when I was a kid, we'd go up to my Aunt's farm in Shasta County to help her with the fall harvest on her farm and then we'd go to the persimmon farms. It was such fun. I remember one year we came home with so many, my mom spread them all out on the rumpus room (remember those?) floor to ripen and then we'd have persimmon bread, cookies, pies, bread pudding, and just plain eating them out of the skin that God gave them. Whenever I see persimmons in the store it brings back such wonderful memories of mom cooking up a storm and the wonderful smells coming out of the kitchen.

So, a cuppa hot cocoa with extra marshies and a slab of persimmon bread hot from the oven. Yumm! I'm in heaven!

Last time I was anywhere near a prickly pear I was picking spines out of my derriere. Please keep Mario away from them!

I'll take a LIIT, then another, then another, then another.......

My actual Thursday is going to be spent being nominated for a union office.

Now that I think about it, make that another, and another........

I think I may have left out "style" between the Mex and Corn!

No, no salt on the corn when served!! They take a stick like you find on a candy apple and shove it into the cob......a napkin and you are set!

    One MSC? DONE!

    LH,

LOL, you are supposed to peel and eat them! Not pocket them for later!

One LIIT and another and another and another and another and another.

By the way, do you have an approval rating? -

    DONE!

    Dr. G,
Nope, you have to sit with your kitty-Come on, you waited that long....

How's about a scritchie for the kitty?

    DONE!

MOFF, I had never heard that one!

    WOW!

    REDD,

Persimmons....hadn't thought about one of those in a while!!!

David, I think we can weld a wheelie bar to the rear!

    DONE!
