I agree with what everyone else has already written this morning. What a wonderful story! I'll bet Griff does a terrific job of looking after his master and family and gets heaps of love and affection. Happy Dog of the Day! (p.s., Griff - maybe your person will register for Pet Talk so we will get to see more photos of you barking at the flashy box)

There is but one word to describe you Griff, HERO! I can't imagine your proud Dad could have wished for a more dedicated and loyal partner than you! For so many years you selflessly put your life on the line, dedicating yourself to keeping your community safe! Now, your only job is to rest on your favorite couch and soak up all the love your family can shower upon you...and smile for the camera every now and then God Bless the dear lady who came to your family's aid, assuring that you might enjoy your retirement in the arms of those who love you! She too is a hero!

Congratulations to you beautiful Griff, our most special, most deserving HERO DOG OF THE DAY! A big hug and kiss to you, sweetheart! I hope for you and your family many more carefree, love filled years together!

    Griff

Well now I am all choked up, reading all about Griff !!
What a wonderful woman to have put up the money to let
Griff retire with your father! It is nice to know there are some
wonderful people like this in the world.

Police dogs are very special indeed, and deserve all of
the same respect that their human Officer counterparts
    get.

I happen to know from having worked in a veterinary practice,
that these brave Canines often are the first ones through the door
in some dangerous situations, and are sometimes injured in the process.

    Enjoy your retirement Griff!

Hi, Griff! It's an honor to meet you, officer! Congratulations on your career as a K9 unit dog. I bet you were a wonderful police dog. And you are quite handsome, too. I'm so happy for you that you got to stay in your home. It would have been a true crime to separate you from your dad and family. Thank goodness for that nice lady who helped out. I hope you still have many years of good health and happiness ahead of you. Congrats on DOTD and I hope you get some good table scraps tonight!

What a great life story you have, Griff! I can't believe a nice lady paid all that money for you to stay with your family. That is so amazingly sweet. You sound like you're a very good watch dog and I'm sure you and your dad had many adventures while you were on patrol. I'm glad to hear you're living the good life. I hope you have many years of happiness, yet. You sound like a real sweetheart.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
