    Wanting a Wallaby

    Hello everyone I was just wondering.Do I need a licence to own a wallaby?If so how do I go about getting one.I live in Jacksonville,Florida,also how expensive are the lincences?Thank You!!!!

    According to that article you would need one and also have to be over 16 years old.

    Down here wallabies are everywhere, I usually see one or two most days when I go for an early morning walk.

    Wallaby -- small kangaroo cousin. Native to Australia and New Guinea.

    Here in the US, it would be an exotic and you would definitely need a license! Don't know how you'd locate a vet either!

    Just doesn't sound like pet material.. kinda like people who want to have lions and tigers as pets. Aren't they meant to be "wild" animals???

    Some are kept as pets on remote farms here, I remember staying at a farm when I was really young where the owners had a couple of pet baby kangaroos.
