We need another eclectic thread...so I'm starting it!

Ok, we have 116 posts on Puff's thread and it's getting a bit cumbersome...so here I go!!

I'll bore you into submission with this one!!

Genealogy is another one of my favorites. I'm back to 1390 on one of my mother's families. Also on her side I'm back to pre-1771. Puff would like that 5 great grandfather's back, even though he was a Methodist minister...he was an interesting bloke! (He was English, so I had to go with English terminology).

My mother and many of her cousins were very much into geneology - on her side. Dad's side doesn't go back any further than Ellis Island on the Swedish side - Swedish geneology being insanely difficult to trace if you don't know an awful lot to begin with! So Ma knew how we were related to almost everyone ... and Dad said - "Ah, we probably don't wanna know on my side anyway - probably all Russian horse-thieves or something!"

Karen, on my dad's side, my great grandparents came over from Sweden, their name was Anderson...oh goody...and settled in Chicago. My dad's other side is Quinn (16th most common name in Ireland) and my great grandmother came over from Ireland with the name of Murphy (number 1 most common name in Ireland!).

So, Puff,,,,which Anglo-Saxon group are we talking about?

Well I guess since it's eclectic it can be just about anything you want it to be. I just started it off being about genealogy....but take any tack you want to take!! That's kind of the fun of the whole thing.
