Sara Lee has recalled its whole wheat bread packaged under several
brand names, including EarthGrains, Great Value, Publix and Sara
Lee, because it may contain small pieces of metal that could prove
harmful.

The bread was distributed in west Georgia, the Florida Panhandle,
Alabama, Mississippi, parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas and
Missouri, according to a company-provided release on the Food and
Drug Administration web site.

The breads are stamped with "best before" dates between July 25 and
Aug. 7 and include the code "222." All of the affected breads were
produced at the company's Meridian, Miss. plant.

Products can be returned to the stores where they were purchased for
a full refund. The company's customer service line is 1-800-683-3466.
