I took Paxil to the vet today to get a lump checked out. It's really small and on most of my dogs I probably wouldn't have even found it. Paxil has had mast cell cancer twice though so I'm a little extra paranoid with her. Plus she's 11 and has chronic pancreatitis and is the dog who changed my whole life. The very first time I drove a dog team, Paxil was my lead dog.
The lump is nothing! Just a small fat deposit right under a nipple! She got a full check up since we were there anyway. No sign of athritis, full range of motion and solid ligaments in all her joints. Her teeth look good; strong clear heartbeat, ect. The vet said she's one of the best managed chronic pancreatitis dogs she's ever seen. Paxil is a little light, but she's always been a hard keeper, even before she got sick.
We saw a new vet today, as one of our usual vets is going on maternity leave in a couple weeks. Dr. Jessica probably thinks I'm insane and I imagine over the next year while she's covering for Dr. Candace I will have plenty have chances to prove that her! Oh, well! My favorite vet once told me that he'd rather deal with a neurotic client than a sorry one.
Cost of office visit--$45 bucks. Knowing Paxil is ok and should be here for a few more years...priceless
