    Pet friendly Housing?

    Yaaaarrrrrrgh!

We've called a bunch of people who claim to have "pet friendly" housing. We tell them and they go on to deny us because of, yup, Spanky. Not even giving us a chance to tell them that she's outside potty trained (She has one or two accidents here and there but NOT often at ALL) and not the "barky type" that most people assume of little breeds. She gets judged and assumed about and they don't even know her. I know it's probably because of some random untrained dog before her but STILL. They could give her a chance.

I check craigslist daily and do google searches continuously. Something will come up soon! If you have any links, that would be great.

Offer an extra damage deposit; get letters of reference from former neighbours/landlords. Even one from your vet might cover some health and behaviour concerns!

Poor puppies - they get a bad rap because of one idiot owner!

Ugh.. house hunting sucks! I'm hoping to start my search at the end of the summer.. it's not gonna be fun trying to find a place with two Shelties and a Mal!

It might help if you offer a pet deposit and put together a "Pet Resume". I'm doing that for my crew right now. I have their tricks, commands, basic info, references from trainers, vets, breeders, etc.

I posted over on another forum asking for advice. Two of our 20 some members are from your area... and about half of us are pet lovers. Someone should have SOME THING.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.

Here are a few links that i could come up with. (If you're inventive enough a search engine will be your best friend. You know what resources you have in your area and other city names, I don't. I also don't know your price range and how much room you need.)

It's it like that where I live now - it is near impossible to find a rental that allows pets. I was easy finding a place that allowed our three cats, but none would accept Bailey. The ones that do allow pets are usually $1000+ per month (whole houses). The only option we have if we ever decide to get another dog is to buy a mobile home. Good luck on your search, I'm sure you'll find something.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and suggestions. I used a search engine. Unfortunately that didn't pan out much hope.

However! We did go look at a place in downtown Eugene that is within our range and just AWESOME for us. Unfortunately, we might not get the place because we don't have enough rental history. They require two years (but we're here, we've got the history in LA [two places], and in Pendleton), but we should have enough but I don't know if our history is good enough? My husband owned his own place before that but that doesn't count or is not sufficient (a trailer, but he *did* pay lot rent)? *crosses fingers*

Good vibes and thoughts and whatnot that we will get approved are GREATLY APPRECIATED.

My daughter moved to Oregon from Illinois a few months ago and she was
surprised how strict she found most places to be about pets (dogs). She
only has 1 dog. She rounded up a bunch of referrals from Vets, and prior
dog people to give to management. it worked for her. Hope you find a good
    place soon.
