    Cool bumper sticker!

Yesterday while I was in town, I saw the coolest bumper sticker. On the back of a big work truck, box of the truck was full of tools and construction stuff. The guy driving reminded me of my hubby--kinda scruffy looking, plaid work jacket on, looked like he'd had a long day of hard physical work and a husky on the seat beside him. His bumper sticker said "Real Men are Kind to Animals"....I so want one for Stuart's car!

I like it! Looks like it's for sale by PETA. http://veganbooks.safeshopper.com/19/339.htm?326

Ohhh! I like! I want to put one on Andy's car.

But don't want to support Peta. Can anyone here with a CafeExpress account whip one up?

Me neither! I'd buy a bunch if someone with CafePress is interested in making them!

Is there a copyright on the saying? If not, I can check with Claire at acmepettransport and see if she can make one for the acme store who deals with cafe press.

PETA has a cafepress store. Not sure how that effects things.

I'm with you (on the PETA thing). I_luv-rusty ~ I think the point is that we don't want to give any of our hard-earned money to PETA to use to spread their nonsense.

People are funny. PETA isn't worthy of credit even for a great idea.

Liz, I don't think it's a matter of not giving them credit for a good idea, I think it's a matter of not wanting to support an extremist group like PETA. I know I don't want to support them. They give viable rescue and animal lovers a bad name with the stupid stunts they pull. I do think that some of their ideas are good, it's they way they present them that I object to, and therefore, I won't support them.

PETA actively harasses people like me--who do any kind of activity with their animals. The last thing I need is to end up on one of their mailing lists.

PETA members let an entire sled dog team loose in downtown Anchorage because they said that the dogs were better off dead than in "slavery". These poor, frightened dogs were running through traffic scared out of their minds. Thankfully, PETA did not get their wish. The dogs were rounded up before they could be killed by passing cars.

Heard on the news today that PETA also said a little Polar bear cub being raised by hand (it's mom rejected it) in Germany would be better off dead than being raised by humans. The news story called it a "right to life" issue, on behalf of the bear. The film clip of him was adorable - can't imagine that being dead is in any way, shape, or form, a better alternative.

As far as the bumper sticker, I would think that if the art is different, that would suffice. I don't think they can "copyright" just a statement like that.
