    Atrial Fibrillation

I have atrial fibrillation ( a mouthful to say and spell!). Is it normal to feel exausted most of the time? My boss has me pushing a lawn mower in this heat and humidity. At the end of today I was so exausted I came home and slept. I may have to ask the boss to cut down on my workload. Is this normal for A-fib?

I'm sorry to hear that you have Atrial Fibrillation.

Here is an excellent link that you can read up on it.

The good news is that when treated properly, it rarely causes serious or life-threatening problems.

Maybe it would be best to talk to your boss about cutting down your work load until you have this under control.

Take care and wishing you all the best David.

Thank you for the link. Because I have this, I have under my name "in an irregular heartbeat". Mine is a physical job (a golf course groundskeeper) and it's getting tougher to do as I get older.

Think your boss would spring for a riding mower? It could be a deduction for the business.

I think mowing as much grass as you do, even a younger man would be
pooped. This is generally lousy weather for outside work. Take it easy on
    yourself.

David, DO follow through on this with whatever testing your doctor suggests - it could save your life. Has you seen a heart specialist yet? I'll put you on my prayer list, dude!

This is in the form of a rant. My boss knows that I have atrial Fibrillation and that I'm 59 years old. So today in the 90 degree heat and humidity he has me pushing a lawn mower!! With my heart condition it's tough for me to breathe in cooler temperatures. I guess it's alright for him, he gets to sit in an air conditioned office most of the time and rids around in a cart the rest of the time. He knows what I'm going through, but he wants to get the most work out of this old man.

It sounds like your boss doesn't have any compassion at all, David. Maybe it's time to look for a less physically demanding job. Your boss doesn't seem to be concerned that he's putting you in danger. Take care of yourself!!
