Doesn't bother me, as long as the animal is taken care of. When I was little I had a friend who's family had found a cat, and the kids wanted to keep the cat. The parents didn't plan on keeping the cat, but finding the owner instead. When the kids asked mom what to name the cat, she responded 'nothing,' meaning not to name the cat because they weren't keeping him. But the kids called him Nothing, and they never did find the owner and ended up keeping him and his name was always Nothing. I thought it was kind of cute.

I hate it!!! After all, it is a living creature, so how can it be nameless??
My SIL used to have 3 cats, and they all had the same name "Puss" . When I asked her why she did that, she answered: "Well, that is very easy, whenever I want the cats to come, I call 1 name, and theyall come!!"
    Stupid, in my opinion....

Hobo has a name (Duh) but He's usually refered to as "Kitty" or "Cat" lol.

My friend has two cats named "boy cat" and "girl cat". He doesn't love them any less for it, and they're happy and spoiled, so why should something like that bother me? It's neglectful actions that bother me, not the animals' name (unless it's something really raunchy or degrading...I knew of a dog named "homicide" and I hated that)

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

It really doesn't bother me. If someone choose to not give their animals a proper name, that is their choice.

Our ball python's name is OneDay, he was a rescue and the guy who origionally had him never named him. Everyone asked him "are you going to name your snake one day?" So that's exactly what he did, he named him OneDay. When we got him we were told that story and we kept his name.

We also have a cat named Kitten. My mom found him under a car at the Toyota dealership she worked at, she brought him home and my sister named him Rav (after a Toyota Rav 4). They couldn't keep him and were only going to foster him, my husband and I decided to adopt him. We didn't care for the name Rav, but couldn't come up with a fitting name for him, we just kept calling him "the kitten" eventually his name just ended up being Kitten.

It depends. I have named all my cats, my dogs, etc in life. But my exboyfriend has a cat named KatKat. Was he loved any less because he had a fake name? nope. He still got love, food, vet care just as any other properly named pet. Sometimes you just don't have any creativity in naming them, so you call it puss or pup hoping someday a name will strike you... and in the meanwhile Puss or Pup is what his name becomes.

My betta has no name. I typically refer to him as Fishie. Like when I tell the cats to "stop drinking Fishie's water!" Does it mean I care less for my betta because he's nameless? nah. I just couldn't come up with a name I liked... especially since I swore he wasn't going to last the weekend with the cats. Here he is months later still happily swimming in the water that gets refilled every day because the cats prefer to drink from his bowl (extra flavoring perhaps?) and now the betta's unoffical/official name is Fishie.
