    New Stir Fry recipes

Well we got a Wok and I wanted to try to make a stir fry. I had never made one before but I had seen my mom make a couple. So I got a recipe online somewhere and made it last night. OH MY GOD was it good. I am so proud of myself lol. Usually Brian does the cooking because he is a great cook and enjoys it but I am so proud of my delicious meal and on my first try

    Here is the recipe

I doubled up on all the ingredients because it would have been a much smaller meal. So here is the recipe (this is the doubled recipe)

    2 Tbsp Cornstarch
3 cups of V8 Vegetable Juice
    2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Ground Ginger (I only used 1 Tbsp and you could still taste it)
Skinless Boneless Chicken Breast cut in strips
Veggies (I used red, yellow, and green peppers, onion and broccoli)
    2-3 Cloves of Garlic, minced
3 cups of rice (or however much you need as it doesn’t go IN the recipe)

Stir Cornstarch, V8 Juice, soy sauce and ginger in a bowl until smooth. In the wok, over Medium heat, in 1-2 tsp of hot oil stir fry the chicken until browned. Repeat this step with the Veggies and garlic. Add the V8 Mixture and cook until sauce thickens and boils. Serve over rice.

    It was delicious.

Anyone else like Stir Fry? Any recipes?

That recipe sounds really delicious!!!! I'm going to make it!!!

I do have several stir fry recipes, but I have to look them up.
One of them uses "Johnsonville Brats", and my kids still enjoy it to this day!!!

Thank You for sharing that yummy meal!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you like peanut butter? I have a great stir fry sauce that bases itself on peanut butter.

Maresche already mentioned one of my favorite stirfry tricks - and that peanut butter. I just stir in a heaping spoonful to the almost cooked meat and veggies and it melts in to make a super tasty sauce.

If your grocery store has a salad bar - that is the easiest stir fry preparation possible!! Just buy the veggies you like best and come home to add to your meat...then flavor with broth, soy, sesame oil, peanut butter or whatever you like best I like lots of garlic. Thicken with a bit of cornstarch.

The V-8 juice for sauce is something I have not tried and bet that did taste good with the soy and ginger!!

    You'll like this then.

    In a bowl mix:

4Tbs peanut butter (plain or chunky is fine)
    3Tbs HOT water
    3-4 minced cloves of garlic
    2tsp soy sauce
    1tsp wortchershire sauce
Cayenne pepper to taste. (I use 1/4 tsp)

Then when your meat/veggies are just about done, throw this in and mix well. You can even wait until you take it off the heat and it'll still work. Yum!

Chicken is my favorite with peanut butter. I just don't like the pb/beef combo.

I often don't have any meat at all, though. We have 2-3 veggie dinners week at home. Used to be more before I was pregnant with Mimi and it is harder to go back.

I love to stir fry, too. I don't have any specific recipe, I just cut everything bite-size:
Heat sesame oil & add some garlic, then add
meat (beef, pork, or chicken) till brown. Set aside.
    Add:
hard veggies (like carrots, brocolli stems, celery, peppers, onions)
then add soft veggies (like mushrooms, broccoli florets, squash, pea-pods)

Season meat & veggies with soysauce and fresh grated ginger root while cooking. garnish wih sesame seeds or salted nuts if you like.

    Serve over rice.

a nice touch is to scramble an egg in the bottom of the wok (just push the veggies up the sides out of the way) and mix it in, yum!
