    Planted a Pepper?

Perhaps inspired by jazzcat and Miss Kitty - HERE - I decided to do a little planting myself today. I had way too much potting soil, so I filled up a bucket and set it to the side. I started with a couple of flower boxes and before I knew it, I had planted a rare and unique Pepper plant.

I could use some help in identifying the species. Any idea on this type of Pepper?

Your garden looks great and I love that green bucket!

I believe your plant to be a Capsicum felineus

What cute pictures. Looks like Pepper enjoyed supervising you outside. The plants sure do look healthy....the green ones as well as this rare species.

    Planted a Pepper

How in the world did you ever come up with such an unusual and beautiful plant? I've never seen anything like it!!! Have you contacted your local horticulture society to see if they could identify it or figure out why the only known one is in your garden? I want a plant like that one too.....

Princess Pepper thanks you for your kind words. The bucket seems to have become a favorite for her. She slept in it again yesterday. Sigh... Looks like the bucket will become a fixture in the garden this year. I haven't the heart to move it now.

That is one beautiful pepper plant you've got there ... along with the rest. LOL! I wonder how long they take to multiply.

You'll have the leave the soil in the bucket, or she'll get completely lost.
