    Update on Dixie

    The first thread was here. The vet called on Saturday morning and stated that the blood test and stool sample both showed up negative for worms. I was really hoping one of them would show up positive.

    We are going to deworm her anyway because sometimes even though the test is negative, they still have worms. Then next monday (March 20) they are going to redo the blood test to see if her Eosinophils (white blood cell count) are still high. If they are then they will do x-rays and other tests to determine if she has cancer. Needless to say, I am very worried about my baby girl. She is only 8 and is my heart. I'm sure she wonders why I'm giving her more hugs and kisses and crying this past weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she does not have cancer.

    I'm attaching a few pictures of her and one of her son Dusty and his pink nose!

    Oh Boy, I hope that it is just some benign disorder and that she will get straightened out without anything major (let alone cancer) being wrong. Good luck!!!

    I hope it isn't cancer, and that whatever it is is treatable.

    Tell her all those extra hugs are from all the Pet Talk people who are praying for her. Such a sweet, sweet face, and the white hairs just add dignity and wisdom to her looks.

    My Prayers are with you!

    I hope all goes will with Dixie. My two guys are a constant source of comfort as well as energy for me so I know how you feel. I have 6 pets, all if which are rescue and I figure that all the years I've given them are better than what they would have faced without me. Your dogs are daggone lucky to have you and things will turn out as they were intended. God Bless!!
    There is also a type of worm that is hard to detect and we went through that with one of our cats. It requies a human prescription and is very hard to get rid of. It took several fecal tests to narrow it down.

    Well I'm sorry to hear that the tests didn't come up as you'd hoped Candy. I'll definitely be keeping you both in my thoughts as her surgery day draws near.
    Lots of love and {{{HUGS}}}
