    Bittersweet..

my niece was born today. She is seven pounds, healthy, beautiful and full of hair.

I had every reason to consider today a miserable, hopeless occasion, but my little niece has come to live despite the fact that so many will soon die.

    Perspective

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Despite the looming fear, it's joyous she is here with you.

It's like the sounds of the birds chirping over the explosions in Baghdad. It was a very eerie and sad sound, despite its normally joyful presence at the break of dawn.

Perhaps the innocents will be our comfort

Congrats on the new addition to the family! She came at a tough time, and I hope these wars will end before she's even old enough to understand them.

She's going to be very special, I'm sure. She's half Puerto Rican and half Korean. I can't wait to see what sort of beautiful mix it will be!

You're going to have to beat the boys off with a stick with that combo!! Hanna Grace has a very peaceful sound to it....it sounds very old fashioned to me....like a slower time. Very nice.

No Ann - I meant the birth of a loved baby was Joyous. Don't lets take the joy out of the occassion - OK it's a really sad time for 'us' but her birth will bring so much joy for her family - especially her Aunty who is so proud.
