    Paddling pics...

I've been playing lots with my new kayak. It's so much fun. Have to go buy gloves on Tuesday though as my hands are turning into big blisters!

My hubby last weekend building me a rack to carry the kayak on my truck.

He had some canine assistants. Bandit thinks these boards are cut right now!

Heyoka is not so sure about this board. It might need to be peed on again!

    The finished product....

pics of today's paddle in the next post.

This afternoon, I went paddling on a little lake about 15 minutes from our house called Kookatsoon. It's very sheltered and quite shallow--great place to practice.

One end of the lake, where the ducks were nesting.

    Going back across the lake.

The view from where I sit.

It was a beautiful sunny day!

Well, it was nice and sunny for a couple hours...

I went home when these storm clouds blew in! Hopefully, I can get back out tomorrow.

You live in one of the most beautiful places on earth! I think I'd be scared to go out in a boat that small.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.

That lake looks just purrfect for kayaking- but I would prefer to stay out of what the clouds could bring

Glacier, That scenery is breath-taking! Last night I was on a dinner cruise of the three rivers in Pittsburgh and we went by a line of six people kayaking on the Allegheny river!

Great pictures. Is the kayak heavy? I was just wondering if
you are able to load it up & launch it yourself. Also, why a Kayak
and not a canoe? It looks like great fun & so peaceful out on the lake.

It weighs 59 pounds. I can load it, unload it, carry and launch it alone. That's part of why I picked this boat actually. I usually go alone so I needed to be able to move it alone. I don't enjoy canoes at all. They feel much less stable to me than a kayak and are harder to paddle alone.
