There's a great story on the news here. Before the storm hit last weekend, staff at the Central Park Zoo arrived early to make sure all the animals were safe. A group went to where the sheep are kept and found an unexpected surprise. When they got to Truffles' stall they found her new born lamb lying next to her! The newborn was named "Irene Hope" and she is absolutely adorable! A staff member said sheep need about 24 hours of complete privacy to bond with their babies so a private stall was built on the spot then mom and baby were moved in.
The baby made her tv debut this morning. The zoo representative said Truffles has been an excellent mom plus Irene Hope is healthy and doing very well.
Welcome, little Irene Hope
