Why the english lang is difficult to learn

My dad pointed out this article in a magazine and I thought I'd share..

    "Sounds like...
Why the english language is difficult to learn:

*The bandage was wound around the wound.
    * He could lead if he would get the lead out.
    * The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
    * When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
    * The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
    * They were too close to the door to close it."

A few years ago, Pope Paul II, was in the US and commented about a "flood" in Denver, CA. I thought it was odd he pronounced the oo's as in food, and didn't pronounce it as "flughd". Then I realized, I couldn't think of another "oo" word that is pronounced "ugh".

LOL..........but in reality, English isn't hard. The whole world learns it with no problem. Try Arabic if you want to blow your mind. When I compare English with the other languages I know/learn, English is a piece of cake.

    One pronounced flood is Blood!

But wood is not pronounced like flood, or like food.

Good is like wood is like look is like book
    Flood is like blood
    Food is like tool

Thank goodness the flood caused no fools to shed blood!

I think english is just confusing, not so hard, i mean in new zealand we even spell our word different to you americans. e.g. colour -ours color -yours, i much prefer the american way, spell it how it sounds, eezy peezy.
