This is where I spend my Sundays and some Wednesdays watching the Eagles play in the Garnet B.Rickard Recreation Complex,named after the former Mayor of Bowmanvile.Before this,he ran a family farm, where Dad and my Uncle Elwood worked.There was a school West of there and there were people playing baseball,Mom was there watching i think and he gave girls rides on his Motorcycle,Mom was one of them.they hit it off,were married a couple of years and will be married 57 years on July 1 ,Canada Day.the first two pictures are from the opening faceoff and acrooss the ice in the aisle of Section ,D is someone ,dressed as Peter Puck,a character created by former Hockey Night in Canada analyst Brian Mcfarlane who has an exhibit of his memorabilia in a building next to the rink called Total Hockey.Picture 3 ater Wellington Duke's first goal,picture 4 play in Eagle's end,picture 5 not sure e,it was blurry,probably of the crowd,picture 7 is little girls from Bowmanville playing a mini game,Tim Horton's Donutsa sponsors the Timbits program for little kids starting to learn hockey.Picture 6 is the Eagles after scoring the tying goal in the first and going to high five everybody on the bench and then the goalie,picture 8 before the second period,place was nearly full over 500 people,didn't win 50/50,it was $356.50 today and i almost 40 tickets,$10 worth,someone with the same last name as the Eagles general manager,Picture 9,start of 2nd period and 10 is play in the Wellington end and the score was 4-2 Eagles at that point and that is how it ended.they finish 1st in the conference and have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs and it starts here next Sunday,either the Cobourg Cougars or the Linsay Muskies. i was standing behind where they play the music and there was play by by the other team and the people in front are the P.A.Announcer and the penalty timekeepers.
