It has been a long time since I have been here. So I don't know if many will remember me. We are struggling right now with our husky and LP. She is 13.5 years old and I do not feel surgery is right for her. I guess it is how do you know it is time is our issue. She has moments of what seems to be comfort and enjoyment. However, being around us gets her excited too much and the panting and distress seem overwhelming. We have tried prednisone, Prozac, cutting her thyroid meds in half, Benadryl. It all works for a time then she gets worse. I just read some have had success with 50 mg of Benadryl 3 times a day. I guess we will try that next. I feel we have reached the tipping point but my husband hasn't. It is so hard.
