The Internal Memory and batteries that ship with most digital cameras are inadequate for standard use. While they will get you up and running, you'll want more Memory and Better Batteries.

    Digital Memory
New digital cameras usually include only 16MB of internal memory which allows you to take approximately 9 pictures. If you want to take more than 9 pictures, and spend less time downloading your images to free up memory space, you should strongly consider purchasing a separate memory card of at least 256MBs.

Digital Camera Memory Card Buying Guide

What Size Memory Card Do I Need?

    Batteries
Most cameras include regular batteries so you can enjoy the product right out of the box. However, digital cameras tend to consume lots of power and standard rechargeable batteries die quickly. Consider nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries which are designed for high output devices like digital cameras. Ultimately this will save you tons of frustration from constantly having to change batteries.

Wow, that is a good deal!

Futureshop.ca keeps changing their prices, ALL the time. I was wanting to buy the a610, and on Futureshop.ca, the price kept changing. First it was $380, then it was $430, it even went up to $450 once. It's down to $350 now though.

I got my a610 for $330 Canadian though and am very happy. I just wish I had a bigger card. (for videos). I have a 512mb.

-thank you Poppy for the avatar.

R.I.P. Hanson. You will never be forgotten, and we await the day to see you once again. The imprint you left on my heart will never fade - your big beautiful brown eyes, your big soggy kisses...
