    Meet Trudy

Trudy is the latest park rescue! She went to the vet got spayed, shots, and treated for ear-mites. She was released back to the park a couple days later and is doing fine. We don't know where she came from, but she's not tame. Isn't she just so cute?

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

At least the chain,of unwanted Kittens will be broken, and Trudy will go to a place, where she will be able to make a home, where kind Humans will be there,to lend a hand.
Trudy is so gorgeous, its a shame she had no Furr Ever Home when she was a Kitten.

    She's very pretty!

Gary said it best, too bad she doesn't have a furr ever home. But at least she won't be adding to the problem anymore.

May I ask who finances the spays/neuters of the park cats?

We pay for food/spay/neuters on our own. We haven't kept exact tract, but figure we've done well over 150 cats now (at the park).

Oh Lisa..........I think you are on the low side! You and Kevin have been doing this forever and I know it has to be more like 500 cats!!!

Think about it, when did you start, how many cats were in the park when you first started, and yearly, how many to you TNR??????? I think you will realize the numbers then!!

You're probably right! I wish we would've kept better records, but then we never dreamed it would turn into something like this. Now that you mention it, there were at least 60 plus cats at the park 8 years ago.
