What is really in a name - Sicnarf Loopstok?

I got an email today and the title is "Who will be the next Rock Shoulders?"

The email then has a link to a baseball site for the Minor League BB for 'Moniker Madness' contest.

The premise of the site is to find out which minor league player has the best name!

Mr. Shoulders was last year's top pick.......

One of my jobs was doing the census for a large hospital and I got to see TONS of names in the seven years I did it, so I have a special affinity for people who have strange, funny and weird names.

I voted on a few and then had to find out who was leading the contest.........

Sicnarf Loopstok of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Too bad you can't use him in a game of Scrabble......

My brain instantly does anagrams of things - I realized that "Francis" thing right away! There's a pharmacy tech near us that never remembers my first name, he's a big Armenian kid, named Aram (classic Armenian name), and so I tell him another of his fellow techs has my name just a bit different - he works with a NareK so I tell him, think of Narek, and swap first and last letters!
