    An unusual visitor message

This was in my visitor messages twice. I just deleted them both. Did anyone else get this? I'd be happy to use eight and a half million dollars of someone else's money to do some good in the world, but this feels a little odd.

    Thank you,
    Elyse

My Name is Mrs Betty Jim from Unites State I want to tell you this because I don't have any other option than to say it, I married to Mr. Jim Benson who worked with Unites State embassy in Ghana for nine years before he died in the year 2005.We were married for eleven years without a child.
He died after a brief illness that lasted for only five days. Since his death I decided not to remarry, When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of US$ 8.5m (Eight Million Five hundred Thousand Dollars) in a bank in Accra the capital city of Ghana Presently this money is still in bank. He made this money available for exportation of Gold from Ghana mining.
Recently, My Doctor told me that I would not last 1 months due to cancer problem. I decided to hand you over this money to take care of the less-privileged people, you will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here.
Hoping to receive your reply: in my mailbox: [[email protected]]
    From Mrs Betty.

I deleted that user. People who are not yet approved to post can post "Visitor Messages" - just delete them, and PM me, and and I'll delete the user.

Elyse, I didn't get it, and I could use the money!!

Well, I have noticed lately that there are a lot of "new members" with usernames such as these:

Karen, I sympathise with you. Is there a way you can prevent such "users" to even get on PT? I guess there isn't.

We cannot prevent them from registering, but we do block spammers from actually being able to post, etc., I do that every day.

You should see the list of online users at 3 AM. More spambots than actual members.

No loans, I'd just give it away. If I really had come into $8.5 million, I'd put checks in the mail to PT'ers and their favorite shelters, charities and organizations in a snap. I know someone whose life was changed for the worse by a windfall.

I know Elyse. So many lives are ruined by winning millions in the lottery. I don't even play it.
