    Jack is home: Update!!

Hehe, Sandra, I have made a fuss of Sunny, when she can be bothered! lol

Jack is home now, he's a bit sore, and I was quite shocked at how awful it looks, with the stiches, it almost looks like he has another head sewn on his body. He also had his ears cleaned whilst he was there so they are nice and gleaming with no muck in them anymore.
Everything went fine, he's had an anti-biotic injection, and is going back on Wednesday for a check-up. He's eaten a bit of tuna and pink tinned salmon that I bought as that's easy to digest. He's also had a good drink, he must've been so thirsty not being able to have anything.
His right paw is sore from where he had the drip in too.
He's cleaned himself though and is stretched out by the fire warming his belly snoozing.
It looks a lot worse than it is I know, as because his neck is all shaved, it looks really skinny and with the stitches and the stains of blood in his fur he looks like his head has been nearly chopped off!
I nearly cried when they brought him out, but no he's fine, and seems to be partly his old self, if a little groggy and google eyed from being out.
I'm going to sleep downstairs with him tonight, as he may want me for something, and I dont want him to climb up the stairs and fall or anything, so I'll sleep on the sofa with him.
I don't know when he'll have his stitches out I guess they'll say on Wednesday when he has his check-up.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow of him, but he's laying down so peacefully at the moment I haven't got the heart to disturb him,
I am so happy he's home, I have never been so anxious!

Thanks for all your best wishes and thoughts
    Kate xx

As far as I know, they have removed his left thyroid gland. This was enlarged so had to be taken out. And yes I was so pleased to see him I didn't take much notice I have to admit! But no really he should make a full recovery. There is a chance that in the future his other thyroid gland could also do the same thing, but we'll have to cross that bridge if we come to it.
He literally jumped out of the nurses arms into mine and loved me and kissed me and started purring his head off, the nurse was actually quite taken aback and went' awwwww' hehe so I think he charmed everybody whilst he was there.

The best vet care in the world doesn't mean much if an animal doesn't have a loving family. Jack jumping into your arms demonstrates just how loving his family is. I'm so glad that he's doing well and soon things will be back to normal. Jack is back!
    Blessings,
    Mary

Most surgery sutures come out 10-14 days after the surgery.

Kate, I am so glad to read Jack is safely home and with you! Thank GOD! I did pray for him last night, and then today I prayed he was doing good, and you too!

I know you are relieved... I hope you got to rest and relax with your tea.

Please give Jack a kiss from me, when he feels better of course

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Your kind words and thoughts cheer me up so much, I have a huge smile on my face right now! Jack has eaten breakfast this morning, more pink salmon and drank plenty of water and had a cuddle on the sofa with me, he's now stretched out on the floor snoozing again.
Once again thank you so much everybody you have made me feel so reassured about this.

Jack had is check-up today. The Vet Nurse said he is doing excellent and his wound is healing brilliantly and there are no problems. He's eating well and also drinking, and going to the toilet normally too, his heart was a little fast but this could've been the stress of the car ride. She said he should start to put on weight soon.
He is going next Wednesday at 4:00pm to have his stitches out

I am so pleased and delighted
