That was Skidboot, the blue heeler. I loved him! He won the finals too!Originally posted by CoolBabe22
I love them!! I am glad I didn't call them Austrailian shepard this time!! One night on Pet Star on Animal planet there was this very smart blue heeler!!Me and my dad were amazed by what it did!! Did you know that people think they came from Austraila??Couldn't tell by they name could ya?LOL!!
Hey!, I saw "Skidboot" on 'Oprah' today here...Wow he is some dog? I liked the part where the owner rolled on the footpath along with him too, ha ha ha!

now we have "Australian Shepherds" here too. It is very funny, as they were first bred in America. They look like lovely dogs, like a cross between a scotch collie ( like 'Lassie') and something else. Amazing looking dogs.

Yes, Heelers are amazing dogs. I have seen the ones in America do their job, and they are just as good as the Aussie dogs.

Ok, I found a picture of Ricky. He was such a beautiful pup! The vet said that he was a pure heeler. He said his ears were floppy from malnourishment. Lack of calcium that they get from their mommy's milk will cause the ears to not perk. By the time I gave him away, they were starting to perk but not totally. I mentioned it in a previous post, but I'll tell his story again. I was driving out in the country and someone slowed their truck and threw him out the window. He was approx. 5 weeks old. I kept him until about 7-9 months, but he was really unhappy in town so I gave him to a rancher.
Thanks for the replys!Great pics---very cute!! I have an idea!! Everyone that loves heelers and cattle dogs show your pride on this thread!! I LOVE BLUE HEELERS!!

I have to say a Very Big Thank You to Cattle Dog Mom for helping me. She knows what she has done, but I thought I should say Thank you. There are no true friends like people who own and love animals ......I have had heelers and many others, but this person has a heart as big as "The Great Sandy Desert" and I thank you Cattledog Mom, I really do. Regards Mich

SKIDBOOT RULES!!!!
Neither did I Foam!! I saw him on 'Oprah' one afternoon......and I missed 1/2 of the show, worse luck, but what I did see was amazing.
You have to realise that the human comes into the picture, as without the devotion to 'Skidboot' by his Human, the dog would not want to do anything. So, that bloke must me a great bloke, and he must be such a wonderful person to have such an animal.
Regards Mich.
