    Sudilar,

I'm with you. I HATE people who lay their responsibilities on someone else, not giving a rat's patoot what happens to the animal.

Poor little girl. I hope she finds a home soon. Great job Lizbud! Please keep us posted.

Something's up, but I don't know what yet. The Red PB has
not been around this evening at all. The can of cat food I usually
leave out on the porch for Stumpy (a black SH cat that's been
around for yrs, but only shows up at night), is still there. Smokey
looks for this dog everytime we've been out, but she is gone.
Where, I don't know. All weekend, she never went further than
three houses in either direction and wore a path through the
snow between the houses. I hope she's o.k.I don't think she
would leave this area on her own. She doesn't know anyplace
but her backyard & this immediate area. I'll watch out for her
tonight, but I really think someone has taken her either inside
or taken her someplace else. With people still coming & going
from the old house it's hard to tell. I still don't know her name

Any sight of the Red PB Liz?

I do hope she can be given a new forever home.

I did not see her or hear her all evening or night. But, she's
still here, I heard her barking this morning. She's back at her old
house, probably in the back yard. She's was not running loose.
I drove by their house & there were kid's toys outside that was
not there yesterday. I know this dog did not have any tags on
yesterday & had been left to fend for herself from Fri-Sun P.M.

I'm really afraid that if she gets out again, or is let out by
these people, one of the neighbors might take matters into
their own hands & shoot the dog. There are so many people
who are very afraid of this breed. I would be very concerned
myself, if I didn't know her or anything about her.I'll be keeping
an eye out for her. Meanwhile my outdoor kitties (3) spent the
whole weekend in the garage. They didn't mind to
much.I let them have a catnip party yesterday afternoon.

She's back... The red PB is out & running around my house
now. she wasn't here when I got home after work. It's only
after dark that she showed up. She seems to be "protecting"
my house by barking at anyone who happens bye the front
of the house The Animal Control Dept. will not come out
after 6pm, unless it's an emergency & then Indy Police dept.
will call them for a vicious dog report, etc. She's not vicious
but probably will be reported that way if this keeps up.I did
not call AC again today b/c I thought they would now keep
her at home. I really don't know what to do other than call
AC tomorrow, but these people might have her back in her
yard by then. I can see this ending very badly for this poor
girl & it's all because of these stupid people.

Liz, I am so afraid for this poor dog. I'm afraid they will think she is mean. Oh, this is so scary. I wish I could snatch her and protect her! How horribly sad.

I wish people would think twice before getting animals. This is so sad. I know that the Michigan Humane Society destroys all pit bulls and pit mixes, regardless of their personality. Is it possible that AC would do the same thing? I feel so bad for her. She obviouslly has some fear based aggression that is very fixable, but it won't look good to most folks looking to adopt. I am sorry that you have to go through this, Liz. I am sorry for you and sorry for Ms. doggie, especially if she's acting overly protective.

Best of luck to you, pup. I'll be thinking about you.

Oh, Liz, this is just bothering me so. Is there anything that can be done for this poor dog. I just know she will be misunderstood and it will be her demise. Oh, poor pup. Is there anyone who could help you??? I feel for you, Liz. I would not want to be in your predicament. It is so horrible. Good luck to you and red PB.

    Liz,
Have you tried to talk to the people when they are at the house. Can you try and find out from them what is up? Perhaps they will turn the dog over to you if you ask and then you can contact Rosie. I feel so bad about this whole terrible mess. I hope it works out.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Candy. Seems the only real hope for this girl is if the people keep her in the yard. Can't hurt to at least try to convince them and explain the predicament. Why, why, why must innocent animals continue to be persecuted and condemded due to the neglect, indifference and ignorance of people! GRRRRRRRRR!

I'm about ready to go down and kidnap her and bring her back here and see if the newest no kill shelter here would have room to take her.

I called the Mayor's Action Center from work this morning
about this little red girl & the events of last weekend.(A.C. not
showing up, people letting her run loose all weekend, etc). The
lady I spoke with seemed intelligent enough to understand the
dog's predicament. I carefully explained, I have no problem with
this dog, she's a very sweet dog & runs the fence with my pup.
I do have a problem with the people letting her loose to wander
around the neighborhood. I explained to this lady that I'm very
afraid that this dog will have to pay the price for these people's
neglect. She seemed to be very understanding of the problem
for the dog. This whole experience is like a nightmare, I feel
so drained by it all & it feels like things are moving so slowly.
Talking to the people still left living in the house would only
let them know who it was that complained about them. I'll just
say they are not the "Ozzie & Harriet" type of people. If they
could treat their own dog so badly, do you think they would
think twice about hurting Smokey? If he were grown & watching
the house for me, I wouldn't be too concerned, but he's still a
trusting little pup & I've got to protect him too. I feel so drained
    by all this awful stuff.

I cannot believe that AC has not shown up yet!!! Here, if someone lodges a complaint for something as minor as a barking dog (time limit before a complaint can be filed is 10 mins. uninterrupted barking) animal contorl is there handing you a written warning fast! For something as errgreious as this, they'd be there in a flash, for the animal's sake as well as for people's. I feel so bad for you Liz. I know the predicament you feel yourself in. I wish there were some way you could talk with these people, but I understand you're needing to protect dear Moki. These people do not sound like the type who would be understanding of your concerns. Have you been calling AC, bugging them? What do they say? What did the Mayor's Action Center tell you to do/what they will do?? Poor you; poor pup!
