Besides German I speak English, French and Italian. I can read Spanish but when speaking I always mix it up with Italian
I speak just a little bit of Greek and have learned Japanese for 3 years but forgot 90% of it.
I've studied Spanish for years and am minoring in it at the university, but I'm still no where near fluent. I'm in especially bad shape because I haven't spoken a word of it in two years and now I'm trying to learn it again. I can read and write it pretty well though, even though my pronounciation is not very good.
When I was little I knew Lithuanian (I'm half Lithuanian). I keep trying to relearn it, but it's hard to learn a language on your own I think.
I took a German class for travel before my family's trip to Germany a couple years ago, so I can say a few select phrases, like "Ich möchte ein Zimmer für vier," so I don't think that counts at all.
I also feel that the United States is pretty bad as far as emphasizing foreign languages in school. It seems to me like people in other countries are fluent in a few languages, and I can only consider myself fluent in one.
My mothertongue is Dutch. I also speak French, English and German

I am impressed so many people can speak more than 1 language. I took Spanish for 2 years in high school and 1 year in college and still can't speak it. English for me.

Besides French, I speak English and a bit of Dutch.
Some time ago I could speak a little bit of German and Italian, but since my brain has to play with French, English and Dutch in the same time (I work in The Nerthelands, use English at work, and live in France!!), my German and Italian are completely gone!

How beautiful!
I can make out Italian, and I could live in Mexico, no problem, speaking Spanish.
And I can make out a little in Romanian, due to the Tom the Cat thread.
Give it to me, as long as it is Latin based.
