Exclamation How To "Register" you Dogs for the Findlay Dog Park

    A New Member asked:
How do we go about registering for the dog park?
    Here are *links* to two Hancock Parks District web pages;

The first link has a brief "Tail" about the Dog Park in the
Area #9 Write-Up - which covers the Riverbend Recreation Area. >>>

    http://www.hancockparks.com/parks.htm

And here is the *link* to see and PRINT the
Dog Park Yearly Permit Application >>>

    http://www.hancockparks.com/dogpark-app.pdf

NOTE: You Must Have "Adobe Acrobat Reader" installed on
your 'puter to Load & See this .pdf file...
If you don't have Adobe Reader -
I guess PM Me at "Cinder & Smoke" and we'll get you a form.

Note 2: The Application is TWO Pages long -
    be SURE to Print Page 1 AND Page 2;
Page 2 is a WAIVER that Must Be Signed & Returned -
and is at the Very BOTTOM of page 2.

What you need to SEND IN with the Application is >>

    1) CHECK made out to Hancock Parks Foundation with
    Memo to: Dog Park Permit

    2) COPY (originals won't be returned) of the Dog's
. . Annual Vaccination Record from the VET...
. . (A Copy of the Office Visit Receipt is fine if the SHOTS
. . are noted & has Vet's Name on it).
. . DATE needs to be within ONE Year of now.

    3) COPY of RABIES Vaccination Receipt ...
    . . DATE within 1 or 3 years - depending on the vaccine used;
. . Most Rabies Receipts show an EXPIRATION date for the shot -
. . Rabies Vacc must be "current" (not expired) and Signed by the Vet.

    4) All Dogs must also be "Licensed" by the City, Town, County,
or State where you LIVE. Fido should be *wearing* his/her License.

    Send it all to:
    Hancock Parks District
    Attn: Dog Permit
    1424 East Main Cross Street
    Findlay, OH 45840

    Cost of $10 / year registers 1, 2 or 3 Dogs.
(From December 1 to December 31 of the Following Year)
You'll receive a Plastic Laminated "Permit Card" in the Mail -
BRING IT WITH you on visits -
they WILL be Checking Permits this year!!

A note about the "DATES" shown on your Receipts ~
Parks is "happy" if the Dates on the Vet & Rabies Receipts are
"Current" within the LAST 12 Months of when you send them in...
In other words; if Fido had his "Shots" anytime AFTER July, 2005 ~
    he's Good to Go!

And a 3 year Rabies shot is good if it was given AFTER July, 2003.

    ANY Questions??
    Post em or PM me.

I moaned and groaned last year because I was so jealous and mad at myself for not making a conscience effort to go. I'm sure going to try like crazy this year. I know I have a wedding that weekend but I can't remember the date off hand...

    Which local hotels accept dogs?

Well, I am a :::ahem::: "cat person", but I may be able to stop by! Fort Wayne is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Findlay! I just have to check my calendar as my best friend is getting married at the end of September and there are wedding activities on many weekends between now and then! AAGGHH! But I would like to attend if I can. I have been watching this thread, and have been thinking about it. I would love to be able to meet some of the PT people and luvvable furbabies! Would there be an extra puppy for me to luv on during the day? I will bring treats and will do my best to get rid of the kitty smell on my clothes!

    Y'all do stop by!!

And you won't be the first Kat Purrson to attend ...
Heck, we've even had KATs attend the Gathurins!!

"Extra Puppies" are available for Dog-LESS Folks ...

I only have Two to Spare since Bowser has already been promised to
his visiting New Mexican Relative - Miz Zippy-Kat.
But with Proper Treats - either Cinder or Smokey will gladly be available!
(And they're both used to Kat-Smell!)

    Smile Count Us In!

I will definately be there with Titan and Liberty! Can't wait.

I'm sure Heidi (shawsdanes) will also be coming with Griffin, Kane, and Trinity. Our husbands aren't as "dog crazy" as we are, so I doubt that they will be accompanying us this time!

I hope all is well with you all. I look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting all the newbies!

Our plans are still to be there however that could change. We noticed Tuesday that Sadie has a growth on her chest, and then found a second on her leg. Right now they don't seem to be a huge concern, although the vet did think they shold be removed them to be safe, as both are too small and close to the skin to remove cells and check. We will try to schedule surgery so she is healed in time, or after the gathering, but that will depend on how things go and assumes nothgin changes in size, appearance, etc.

If you don't mind, please send a good thought or two Sadie's way that these are just fatty tumors and that she'll be ready to party with everyone Labor Day weekend.

Hmmm. it's close to 9 hours to get there from here. We have a wedding on Sept 2 in the evening, so we're thinking of maybe driving through the night (gotta get the Princess Logan), or 1st thing in the morning..super early. This is still an idea, not definite. Any suggestions from you "regulars" about where to stay with a pupster????

Only one decent picture to share. John just clicks away, no warning or aiming. I will post it soon..I almost forgot about it. I'll check with Logan to see if she has any good shots. It was impossible in the restuarant with the lighting where we were sitting.

A lot of us are cat people too - Keegan lives with 2 herself! and she prefers kitties to dogs - only 2nd to PEOPLE!
    She doesn't mind kitty smell
ANNND we've actually had 2 kitty visitors to the dog park!
Sammy - All creatures great and small and her daughter Yellow Lab Lover came and
Moo as in the Donna and Mooshoo duo!

That's about 9 hours TOO MUCH driving after an evening wedding!

LOVE to see y'all - but either toss the wedding or plan on Findlay
    over Memorial Day, 2007!

    Where to Stay?
Didn't you see the *link* Staci posted for you a few replies ago??

We use the Super 8 Motel - far from "Ritzy" but cheap and almost clean.
    You have to argue for the cheap rate;
and *ignore* the "Tell us if you have a Pet" sign on the desk ---
they want an extra $5.00 for each one you admit to having!
