How old before they lift their leg to pee

Sherman was 1 1/2 when we got him and he still mostly squatted. He's 2 1/2 now ans lifts his leg if he's peeing ON something, but squats when he' s out in the open. Star is a dominant female, and she lifts her leg most of the time (I'm SO glad to see that she's not the only female that pees like male!)

Nova is 1 1/2 and he sometimes lifts his leg..... Eclipse is 9 months old and he squats.... Thunder is 5 months old and he lifts his leg as high as he can!

I'm not quite sure when Nebo started lifting his leg. I believe he was over a year, maybe 1 1/2 years or so. He only does it if there's something to lift his leg on, like a tree nearby (or fire hydrant ) otherwise he does this pathetic squat....usually he walks while squatting too.
