Schteve, it's perfectly okay for you to post here, I am sure Randi will appreciate it.
I'm just bumping this into "Active Topics" again, because some people may not have seen this.

I have come back to this thread several times, but after opening it I was at a loss for words, and had to close it again feeling even more contemplative.
I always perked up at the sight of a new "John post." They were always so thought proking. He also had one of the most beautiful commands of the English language I ever had the privilege of reading.
He will truly be missed. For his thoughts, intelligence, wisdom, courtesy and humour.
Hugs to you Randi, and RIP John
As was the case with Naomi and others, I have had difficulty finding words with which to respond to this tragedy. I am in complete shock. I enjoyed each and every post of John's that I had the pleasure of reading. He was obviously a very articulate, funny and compassionate man. Now I will go back into the Pet Talk archives and find those posts that I may have missed.
I sent him a private message once in response to a political thread he started in the Dog House. His eloquence and candor affected me so much that I took some political action I may not have otherwise had the courage to do. He was very inspirational and impacted my life as a result. He closed his message with "all the best in a mad world." Now he is beyond this world and its madness and in a much better place.
I offer my deepest condolences to Randi, Fister, your families, and all those who knew and loved this remarkable man. You are all in my prayers.
Many thanks to Roxyluvsme13 & k9krazee for my great new siggy!!

Bumping this up one more time for weekend folks.
I find myself at a loss for words...
I haven't been here too much as of late but the time I've been here I've come to love John's stories and his great sense of humor.
RIP John. You will be missed as a pillar of this community
Randi. I'm so sorry for your loss. 65 so young of an age to lose a family member.
I feel for your loss. If you need to cry, laugh or what ever do it. I loss both parents within 4 months of each other. For me crying and talking about it to other people helped me. It has been 7 years since they passed away and I still get junk mail with there name on it. Hang in there.

RIP John...you will always be here in spirit.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened.
John, I didn't know you that well, mostly because I didn't visit the Dog House that much, but I did love your Fister Tales immensely. I know you were a very special man and I know you will be missed greatly, not only by Randi, Fister and your family, but by your other "family," the Pet Talk family.
Godspeed, John.
Randi, know that we are with you as you go through this. Im standing right next to you right now, holding your hand and ready with hugs whenever you need them.
