Well, I failed to mention in my post yesterday ... that these kittens are feral. The woman managed to catch #3 (out of 5) and brought it to me this morning. You talk about a SPITFIRE!!!
This baby fought with every single one of it's 20 claws...LOL!!! I was bleeding within seconds!
I am happy though to announce that #1 and #2 are both feeling more comfortable with me, and will purr loudly when I hold or pet them. The fluffy one (#2) is still more guarded ... but she initiated a game of chase this afternoon around the bedroom , which is a good sign of feeling safe!!!
#3 aka "Spitfire" has even come out and moved around the room a bit with the others.... he/she (haven't been able to master the technique of sexing a spitfire) will still run for hiding in a moment's notice, but showing itself at all in the daylight hours is a positive thing I feel as well. Oh, I also managed to corner him in the bathroom and picked him/her up and rubbed him against my face and forced it to take my petting and kisses. We had an intense session of eye contact at CLOSE RANGE (hehe) so I am hoping that we are making progress.
The woman said the next two are even "wilder"!
I asked that she give me 24 hrs or so with "Spitfire" before we attempt to bring another in here....but I really feel the sooner they are acclimated to people, the better!
NOW... if I can just get this job I've applied for....... these babies will REALLY have a chance!
