    Oreo wants to sleep outside--ideas?

Oreo has been wanting to sleep outside lately and it is making me feel really bad. Each night at bedtime, she goes outside for a potty break, and then she comes in and we all head for bed. But about an hour later, she gets up and asks to go out. I've watched her, and she's not going out to go to the bathroom; she just smells around and then lies down in a nice hole/nest she dug for herself.

I've tried: lots of exercise to get her tired, a checkup at the vet, and a secure place to sleep that Kona doesn't share. She just seems to prefer sleeping out there.

I can't imagine that is more comfortable than her fluffy bed and blanket on the floor in our room. And I worry that she'll be cold and lonely, too. Besides, she is a part of my family and I don't want her to be an "outside" dog.

Does anyone else's dog prefer to sleep outside? Any ideas?

I have no idea, if this pertains to your sweet Oreo.

Pepper use to be, and still can be a pain in the butt.
    (hubby spoils her terribley)
Pepper will wake my husband, around the wee hours of the morning to go outside.
We think she hears noises and
she likes to go hunting. Hubby will let her outside
thinking she has to go pee, but she just plays around.

Rocky likes to sleep outside on hot nights.
If it were not for his possum hunting I would
    let him sleep out their.

Sheba loves to sleep with us, once she goes to bed,
    nothing wakes her up.

No real advice, but if it's not cold and Oreo
doesn't bark, whats the harm in it as long as your
    yard is safe?

Last summer both the girls would wake me up around 2 or so wanting out, no they didn't have to potty they just wanted to be out. So I'd leave them out, if they wanted to come in they would let me know, but usually they didn't & just stayed out till I got up then slept all morning long!
Like KYS said, if your yard is safe & secure & Oreo wants to sleep out there I'd let her.

I'm no expert, but is there any harm in letting it sleep outside?

The yard's safe and she's not noisy, so I guess there's no harm--I just want her to be as comfortable and happy as possible. But, since it is her choice, I guess she is!

I'm glad that she's not the only one that does this. Thanks for your comments.
