I lit one too. Lots of light to help dear Bean find his way home!

I just lit a candle too.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

The story of Bean's return
Bean returned home around 2:00 yesterday. At 1:00, I was at the humane society searching for him. The staff there has been wonderful. They called me once with an "almost find" (another grey, male, neutered 8 or 9 year old with a microchip!! But...it wasn't him) and they walked me through the quarantined section every time I went. Yesterday, I cried with one of the girls. I said "it kills me to see all these "found cats" that no one is searching for but mine is chipped and has a collar and tag and I can't find him".
My friend got a call at work at 2:30 from our neighbor who said "Bean is sitting on your back patio and yes, it's him; I checked the collar" She came flying into my office and said "he's on the patio", I said "get the hell outa here", grabbed my keys and flew home. I saw him on the deck as I pulled up. I parked, ran around to the back of the house and he greeted me on the patio. His face was so small. He opened his mouth and cried for 5 seconds straight. I scooped him up and kissed him. He smelled like mold. I carried him inside. Sunny freaked! She has been looking for him day and night. It has been breaking my heart. Every morning, I used to open the basement door and she would run down to greet him. These days, we kept the door open so we didn't have to do that but one morning I forgot and when I opened it in the morning, she ran down and looked for him in all his spots. I cried. So now, I bring him in. Sunny danced all around him. We showed him to Moon who was like "I know! I've been looking at him outside for the past hour" HA! Bean ate 3 bowls of fancy feast, drank some water and went to sleep. Sunny went in to sniff him; he bit her on the head. I think I had euphoric recall all week. I was remembering Bean as the sweet little cat that he is NOT. He is a crotchety cat! HAHA! But he is my crochety cat and I'm so happy he is safe and home.
He lost 3 and a half pounds. That is 25% of his body weight! He has an app't at the vet on Monday. Of course, they want a stool sample.
I slept great last night We went out to dinner to celebrate
Thanks again everyone!!!!!!!!
Again, Thank God.
I hope everything goes OK at the vet on Monday.
I'm so glad he's home, I know how it feels when they come back home, you just want to hold him in your arms and never ever let him go again...
Thank God for always listening to all of our PT prayers!
Love and kisses for the little rascal
