I saw a new program today, It's on the Green/Discovery channel.

It's called Emeril Green. Emeril takes people who need help cooking.
He walks them through a Whole Foods market and teaches them how to prepare meals or solve a food problem. He then uses the store kitchen area to cook the meal.

I watched a part of one show and Emeril almost took a hit for the show. He was standing to the right of the woman he was teaching how to chop mushrooms.

EL is started to reachg over to grab something off of the table and the woman took the knife she had in her hands and went under EL's out stretched arms.

He recoiled and then recovered, but he never stumbled.

Food programming is moving into the 'audience participation' mode and it's getting kinda sketchy for the hosts.

Everyone, what did you think of the NFNS outcome? It wasn't what I was expecting!

It's exactly as I predicted. (to myself) Lisa was too tense and the other guy (his name escapes me at the moment) always looks like he just rolled out of bed. While that may not have anything to do w/his culinary skills, FN is looking for the whole package. Plus I think Aron's appeal is universal. Once the competition really got rolling and it came down to 4 persons, I could tell that Aron would be the winner. He wasn't concerned w/singing or comedy. He likes to cook and it shows. He'll be coached on how to improve his camera appeal.

I was quite pleased, but surprised.

Someone somewhere will surely give Lisa a show - but she's interested in so many things, she'd seem a better fit for HGTV or something. And Adam (Mr. Bedhead) maybe can do a podcast and get sponsors. His concept just didn't seem like it would be enough to base a whole show around.

    PROGRAM ALERT

This Sunday was the contest that Deen and Fieri were supposed to host before the NASCAR race. You'll probably see it later on in the year, but there will be some kind of tie in in the prerace program....keep your eyes peeled!

    Dang, I missed it.

I'll have to wait for the TVFN program you know is coming!

GF had his son on the show. What is the deal with the wristbands? His kid wears one to.

    SM,

The Cubano style of sandwich is pressed like a paninni and the pickles are always part of it. Never had one, but pork. in a sandwich, is really good.

I didn't pay too much attention to the episode, but I did notice that the woman didn't bother to strain or make her sauce "smooth"- I am not a fan of any sauces that have stuff floating around in it.
