Flatcoatluver, if the owner doesn't find a home for the dog with the problem hip - will she just stay with the owner for the rest of her life? Or, is there a good chance that someone will take her that does not plan to have her do agility competitions. Will she still be able to take walks and do regular, everyday activities?

Yes she will be able to be a normal dog, do normal activitys. Agility is hard on the joints, and for a dog with HD it just doesn't mix well.
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

I thought of the name Dakota (without an h) but thought you were wanting shorter names. That's why all the ones I suggested were one syllable.
But I do love the name Dakotah, especially with the h.

I can't believe you didn't take pictures!! Now you're killing us making us wait. And that's so cool that you get to pick him up on your birthday.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Dakotah is a nice name, but not exactly short like you were asking for. You'll have to think of nickname to call him on the agility course.

Man, the 17th is toooo far away! I want more pictures NOW.

Yeah, my mom loves that name to much, so really she was the one that named him. So his name is Dakotah Blue, nickname is Kota. I am not so excited about this weekend though, trying not to get my hopes up.
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

Congrats on the new addition! He is very handsome. I have just started competing with Clipse in agility. It is so much fun.

    *Thanks Ashley*

Today is the 11th. The 17th is a week from yesterday, so I think I can wait! Give Kota a big WELCOME hug for me!

Somehow I missed everything going on with Zoey. I am sorry to hear about that, Bre. I had the same heartbreak with Nova although she was much younger and we hadn't started competing in agility yet, just training. I hope all goes well with the new dog, he is gorgeous!
