I'm so jealous! I am a big Scrooge at heart. I'm always just glad when it over!
My son is going to his dad's mother's family dinner tonight, so he won't be here. My husband's son is in the state reform school, 300 miles away. My husband left this morning at 6:00 am to go visit him. My husband is understandably having a hard time with this at Christmas. It's not going to be a fun day tomorrow, I have a feeling.
So, today, I plan on laying around in my pajamas and surfing the internet, reading books, taking a nap, etc. Aaaahhhhhh...... I'm done shopping and wrapping. Although, we might go to the mall. Sounds maschochist, I know ... but maybe it will get us in the Christmas spirit. OTOH ... that would require actually getting dressed. Hmmmmm.
I, of course, also have to work today, and tomorrow ... and every day of the year. I've got about forty dogs in the boarding kennel to take care of.
Tomorrow we will open presents here in the morning. My parents come over first thing in the morning, and I make breakfast. That, of course, was fun when my son was small and thrilled that Santa came, and had lots of toys to open. Now, he's almost sixteen, and has a couple of big, expensive presents, and he already knows what they are. Christmas is for kids, IMO. Something just gets lost in translation when you have a bunch of adults trying to look thrilled about too-small sweaters and fondue pots.
Then we have two Christmas dinners to go to tomorrow, one at 2:00 pm and one at 5:00 pm. Then I guess we'll just roll our over-stuffed bodies home and go to bed!

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
