    Grrr...

I just came back from my brother's soccer game and I just need to vent a little. Sorry if this is long...

This afternoon I decided to go to one of my brothers soccer games. I figured it would be a nice way to get out and also give Mickey a chance to be at the park. We have two leashes: One is one of those retractable ones. It was the first one we bought (the salesperson "convinced" us it was better but I hate it. You have absolute no control with it.) Anyways, we now use that one for when we go to the park so he can run and have a bit more "freedom". We also have a normal black material leash. We use that one for everything else. When we go to my brothers games, we bring both.

Anyways, we were at the park and this little blond boy comes over and starts petting him and soon a bunch of little boys and girls are petting him. Mick's being a good boy and just sitting there nicely. Then the blond kid left and went to play soccer with his friends a bit farther down. Mick loves to play soccer so was giving me a hard time trying to join in. I eventually got him into their game and was kinda showing off how he can slam dunk and score and catch the ball and they all loved him. I realized that it would be easier for him to run after the ball if he was wearing the retractable leash, so I clipped it on. Well the blond kid decided to bend over and tie his shoe lace and Mickey started running after the ball. The leash went over the kids head and slid by his ear. He ended up getting like a rope burn. He kept rubbing it and I kept checking to make sure he was okay. It was red but it was fine. He then looked at me and said in the most disgusted way "Why do you bring your dog over here?" I was like, what? A minute ago, they were running happily and because of a little accident he hated Mickey? I was just like "Why shouldn't I?" and walked away. Then the kid runs off and kinda ignores Mickey. I was like, okay he's a little kid. I'll just forget about it.

A minute later this group of older kids come over and Mickey starts barking like crazy. He's such a calm dog, I couldn't figure out what his problem was. All the kids left him and seemed terrified. One asked me what he was barking at and I noticed one of the older boys had black and white striped soccer socks and Mick barks at unfamiliar things. He would so bark and something dumb like socks so I just shrugged and said "I think it's that kids' socks" The whole park found out it was the "socks" causing the "evil" dog to bark and everyone started talking about it. I couldn't belive it. So by this time I was embarassed and angry so I picked up Mickey and put him on the bleachers and I just dug my face in his fur and we stayed like that until my mom took him. He's always calm when he's with my mom. I was like, okay relax. Meanwhile, I'm noticing this little girl staring at Mickey and all the little boys who had been playing soccer with him had all walked away or were giving us dirty looks. (because of the barking fit Mickey had) I felt like everyone hated him.

By the end of the game, I noticed the blond kid going over to his mom and telling her the story about his ear. Then he comes over to me and said, "it still hurts" Like, congratulations...what did he want me to say? I just walked away. Then this other little girl has this fascination with him and started pulling on his leash. I kept telling her to stop but she wouldn't And this other kid starting bouncing the ball and was laughing at him because I had him in a "stay" and he couldn't move. She was teasing him I couldn't wait to get out of there. Luckily, this woman came over to us and said "I heard he doesn't like striped socks" and pet Mickey. She even let him lick her face. That was sweet of her. Of course I was so fed up of all the kids, and that blond one still giving me dirty looks so I went to wait in the car.

I am not going back to the park...especially not with Mickey.

Sorry, I had to get that out. I know it was long and pointless but I'm just happy to be away from those kids.

Ohhh I know what you mean..I hate going to the parks with loads of kids. I use to bring him to public places to get him more use to being around people but..I avoid schools because the little kids are always doing something mean to Kai. We went to a bbq not too long ago and the kids started feeding all the dogs:hot dogs, COOKED chicken wings (along with bones), chips..and all that "nice" stuff. Luckily, my cousin's a bit of a hot head and really scared the kids lol. At least they weren't feeding the dogs later! Once, when I was picking up my brother and sister from school, this kid wanted to hold Kai's leash. I kept saying that he couldn't because he's quite strong for a little guy. His mom insisted...(I found that odd..considering..he's my dog..isn't he?). I'm like...meh..okay...but I held onto the leash also. It was one of those retractable leashes too..and he kept pulling kai..then letting him go..pulling...letting go etc...gr..made me mad...so I tried leaving, but he wouldn't give it back. Then his mom said.."oh just a few more minutes"...GR! Never going back to the school lol! Oh my..I ranted a bit too eh? Anyways..none of what happened was mickster's fault...so just ignore it..don't feel guilty about the ear..it was an accident..and not like a major injury.

    lol what a stupid lady!!

I don't feel guilty. lol Just like, wrongly accused? You know what I mean? He was telling everyone about it and started hating the dog. Well geez, don't stop in the middle of a game to tie your show lace!

I know what you mean about kids and schools. Mickey loves kids so I passed by my bro's elementary and they were like this huge mob. Mick was having a blast. lol good thing the fence was there but I felt like a celebrity. They all knew his name and were almost climbing the fences to see him. Weird kids lol

I know what you mean.. I was at Pet land looking at all the cute lil puppies.. With cami of course.. So i was just looking around all of a sudden this kid comes out of no where and just like jumps in front of me and cami.. He started sticking his tounge out and like saying NAH NAH NANANA! u know? lol. Well any ways cami was acting like she didnt care and looked the other way.. SO then he moved where her head was turned and moved in slow motion and cami hates when things or people move in slow motion so she obviously started barking in defense. So the kid ran away and told his mom.. blah blah blah. get over it she barked at you kid.. ughh.. Then the store worker guy came over and asked if we wanted her nails clipped.. We get it free up to two years when we buy her there.. So cami is really scared of new people and backed away scared.. My mom was with her at this time.. And she was behind my mom well then it seemed like everyone was talking about this MEAN BEAR while then it seemed to be a SWEET ANIMAL??!?!? i dont know it made me mad! lol Venting is so nice!

Gee, I wonder what they would have done if Buck throw on of his "Ball" fits...lets just say that kid wouldnt have to worry about his ear...more or less his now punctured and slimy soccer ball...some kids are so dumb...and they are the result of dumb people getting togather...sad.

I really love kids, I don't know why. But when they start acting stupid like this, forget it

I hate it too, its annoying

once, I took our duke for a walk up to the park, and everyone was teasing it, and our duke got angry and started barking.

so I took him home. now, I take our duke to the football ground via a bike ride thingy path, with lots of tree's and fields every morning on a weekday while the kids are at school!

when I get to the ground, I talk to some mates and let our duke of the lead, he does nowt and lays down next to me, everyone loves him!

    Hehe..me to!

I hate bringing Daisy or Molly to a public park...ESSPECIALLY with little kids. There sooo annoying! They will come up to them, not even pet them, just stare at them....ill try to walk away from them, but they follow me! The adults are kinda wack too, they go why do you bring a dog here? There tons of kids here, and what if THAT DOG bites or attacks them? I just say, umm excuse me, my dogs would never attack anyone, let alone bite them, and its a public park, so if you really think they will... then YOU CAN LEAVE! Some peope..

Ever bring a Nefie to a park??? You get about 50 kids staring at you..the adults dont seem to freak out anymore..Im there every day with dogs...they just accept me now and if they dont screw them my dog has never bit, growled or even went to the bathroom at the park. So they have nothing to complain about..Im doing my job as an owner by socailizing my dog..just as they are being parents I guess.

I cant stand kids adn Im not going to have any either. My furkids are hard enough to handle I dont want to be responisble for raising a child.

Not me, I know I want kids. I'm just going to raise them to love animals as much as I do I love bringing Mick to the park. Either people ignore him or gets a bunch of compliments. And it's good for him too. He loves people. It's just, when kids don't listen or go out of control--I find they have gotten worse as the years go on. Kids in kindergarden walk by and are like "Your such a pain in the ass" Like, okay they're starting early with the swearing

A few nights ago, we went to see my cousin who has 2 kids, a 2 year old daughter and a baby about a month old. Mickey was playing tag with the daughter. When she would slow down, he would slow down. He was so good, I was freaking out! He did it on purpose to never catch her. When I tagged him, he was nipping at my heels. lol

I've never been married and don't have any children. Someone asked me if I liked kids I said of course they're delicious with a bit of gravy and a side of asparagus. A friend of mine is a psychologist and he said children who are mean to animals are often neglected at home and they vent their anger on the innocent beasties. You and your doggies have just as much right to be in the park as the kid and the soccer players-maybe the kid was jealous because your dog is better than he is.
There I've said my kibbles worth-think I'll pass on putting gravy on the blond kid- he'd taste awful!!

thats different I have never met of person even the really little kids that did not love my dogs, Happy does not even like little kids, and they always ask if they can pet her, and if they can play with her, they play with her happily and dont mind if she barks at them, Happy is really starting to like little kids now, and whenever she see's the kids that have played with her, even if she had only seen them once before she gets exited and wants to go see them, the little kids even remember her name. and always ask if she can come out and play, she even scared a little girl once, but the girl still likes happy I have never had anyone tease my dogs, and when kids who dont have a clue what happys name is even invite her over to play a game of basketball, or frisbee with them, people with babies I hear there parents say "look at the puppy! say hi to the puppy!" lol guess I am lucky??? dont worry mickster is a good boy, and hey if anything its the adults who are weird! or maybe its cuz I like little kids maybe happy sences that? and I look and act friendly towards the kids, maybe thats it lol
