well it might not be a good idea if it is cold, but if it is really infested with the fleas, and depending on how big the cat is, you might be able to try it, use warm water, and dry it very good... would a hair drier not too close to it scare it? then maybe give it some warm milk? and then a nice warm cozy blanket. inside the house it should dry and be ok. try not to wet its face... for the goop in the eyes, try a cotton ball in warm water, and then lightly wash the stuff out of the eyes, I bet that will make the kitty feel better too.![]()

Maybe this poor kitty has not just fleas. A cold (or what looks like it) can be so many different cat diseases that you should absolutely see a vet. If it has some kind of infection than it will be much easier to treat the fleas if the more important disease is cured.
And I am sure a healthy kitty can break the heart of your parents much easier (kittens are famous for that).
Maybe you could use something else to rid the kitty of fleas other than a bath? Do you have access to the drops one puts on a cat's neck?
The kitty does seem to have another problem besides the fleas, but getting rid of them will certainly make the little kitty much more comfortable and may make your parents more inclined to letting you keep and help the poor little baby.
Please keep us posted!!!
