Starr's having a rough start to the week!
On Sunday I noticed that she had developed an hemotoma on her ear flap. A hemotoma is blood that collects on a dogs ear flap from excessive head shaking. Earlier in the week she had been bitten by a bug, and I guess it really itched.
So, off to the vet we went. The hemotoma was about the size of a golfball, and after they drained it (yuk!) they had to tape BOTH her ears to the top of her head so that the hemotoma wouldn't refill.
BUT, dispite the ears being taped up tonight I had to remove the tape because it did refill and her ear was huge and red.
So, we're back to the vet in the morning... Poor girl.
We also had blood taken to see if maybe she has some seasonal allergies that are causing her ear to be itchy.
Here are some pictures of her on Sunday with her "pretty hat", everyone at the vets office signed it.
She could sure use some PT thoughts this week.
