I went to the Unique Animal Expo today...hehehehe PICTURES!!!

Today was the Unique Animal Expo in Hillsboro, Oregon, near Portland. We left around 11 am this morning and got there around 1:30. I took two of my baby boy rats with me, as they went to new homes today. I met the new owner at the expo. I also took Nemesis along just for the ride. He pretty much goes everywhere with me.

The main reason I wanted to go was to see the exotic cats. They had two servals there, a baby and an adult male. There were also Caracals, two female Barbary lion cubs, a Canadian Lynx, Greater Bushbabys, hedgehogs, Ring tailed lemurs, Alpacas, llamas, pot bellied pigs, various kinds of reptiles, spiders, and TONS of different birds and small animals like Chins, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs and even chickens and pigeons for sale. I absolutely LOVE the big cats. As my friends know, it is my dream to own a serval someday. There were two Bengals I desperately wanted, one marble and one spotted, for only $550 each! Unfortunately, my bf went to take money out of the machine and it was broken. We were going to buy this REALLY cool Giant Day Gecko, and boy was he big! We wanted him so bad. Damn money machine!

There was a very cute baby ring tailed lemur, as well as a cream skunk. She was very cute and very soft. I ended up coming home with two new pets, but I'll get to that later. For now, enjoy the pictures!

Here's the skunk. Sorry the picture is so blurry. It was very dark where the photo was taken, so it didn't come out that well.

    Some VERY cute alpaca babies!

Nose shot! This one kept talking and talking and talking, LOL!

The GOOD pictures are coming up. Muahahahaha! Meaning, the baby lion cubs, Caracals, and Serval kitten.

    Here's the Baby Lemur!

    The lion cubs.

Hehe, this one woke up and started hissing at my bf. I was the only one who asked to take pictures of them before doing so. The owner seemed to really appreciate that.

    The Caracals

When we first went up to them they were grooming eachother. What a site! I almost died!

And last but not least, the only reason I went to the Expo....the SERVAL!

I also shot a video of the baby lemur outside hopping all around. You guys will love this video. I will upload it now.

It looks like a really neat event to attend. But, I have a question. Those lemers and cats, who owns them? Why do they own them? For educational purposes or as pets?

Can't wait to see your new additions!!

Yes, the lemurs and cats are pets. Many people here have larger cats as pets, but they are also used in educational work too, hence the reason none of them were for sale. I'm not sure about the Lion cubs though...

My boss had two ring tailed lemurs.

That's interesting. I think its neat for kids to see them in an educational manner...they learn to respect them as wild creatures.

I used to volunteer at a shelter that had a bald eagle and a falcon (rescues) they would take to events to educate children. Its cool.

Your boss has lemurs? I had always heard they were...uh...agressive? I guess not, huh?

I LOVE the picture of the baby ostrich!!! They are soooo cute!!

OOOh, you reminded me! On the way there I saw TWO bald eagles. I have never seen them in the wild. I knew we had them here, but I never thought I would get the chance to see them up close. It was awesome.

Actually, lemurs can be pretty docile. At least all the ones I've been around. Of course their still a wild animal.

Wow, that looked like a fun place to be!

The alpaca is so cute! And so were the big cats!

Just a question, don't you need a permit to own many of those animals? It would be so neat though. I love big cats, too.
