    Thanks guys

& its funny how he went to black to grey in only 10 yrs hehehe.

I use to pull all his white hairs once a week & then they were on his face, chest, leggs tummy & I couldn't keep up, nor did I want to make him bald.

I even bought him shampoo for black dogs & there was a warning on it not to use on light coloured dogs, only black/dark brown.. but NOOOOOO it made the white hairs stand out even more.

Oh, he's so handsome. I'm so sorry that he passed If it's ok, I don't want to make you feel even worse, but could I ask how it happened?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Thanks for sharing the pics about Max. Isn't it funny how much they change, yet stay the same as they age?

    ramanth tell me about it.
Last summer/spring the vet said Max's muscle tone & his health condition should give him another 5 years min. He said Max's health was the same as a 3-5 year old dog. & if u saw the video with Max fetching the chuck-it, u can see the speed & power he had for an old dog. His temp owners said they have never seen a dog run that fast before & they've had large dogs all their life.

I must have been doing something right. (the vet wanted to know my secret).

Max even kept his puppy face, which was nice

    Sweet baby Max
Your face is forever writ onto our hearts
Those eyes, so sweet and dark
    Never changed
The love in them stayed steady
And though we lost you far too soon
    The love remains for always

    Sweet old man Max
The wisdom of 10 dog years
Is plainly enscribed upon your dearly greying face
    The innocence of puppyhood gone
    But the silliness still ingrained

    Sweet Max
    Jessica's dog of a lifetime
    Forever romp in her heart
    And in our imaginations

And as long as there is one dog hair embedded
    Somewhere in her belongings
    You'll be with Jess
And that, as any Lab-owner knows,
    Means forever and a day.
