Can Fireworks hurt a dogs ears?

Help! I know my Lexie (Shi-tzu) does not like fireworks, but last night someone set one off a few feet away from us. Of course she freaked, and I took her back to our boat to settle down. She soon settled down and was fine until this morning when we went home. Normally she loves car rides, but today she went into some sort of shock, shaking and panting and very uptight. (I drove the jeep home, which is quite noisey). Could her ears have been damaged, or do you think she is just still nervous from last night? Now that we are home she seems a bit more nervous that usual, but is slowly coming around. Has anyone had anything similar happen to their dog? Or maybe I'm just being too overly concerned? Any advise is appreciated!

I am sorry to hear about Lexie's tramatic
experience with the fire works.
Sounds like the poor pup was tramatized of having
them set off so close to her.
Hope she is back to her ol' self, if not a vet
visit for a check up might be a good idea.
