Introducing my reptile friends & birthday present

This is Kaos, he's one of our emperor scorpions

This is what scorpions look like under black light

Slate, our banded flat rock scorpion

Slate again, I think she's getting a little aggravated with the camera.

And last but not least... my newest addition... Beatrice the Beautiful. She's a young corn snake that my boyfriend & I picked out yesterday for my birthday present.

It's so nice having a snake around again. I know I have to practice taking good pics of my new snake with my new camera. Sorry they are a little blurry.

I am so amazed with her colors & patterns, she really is beautiful.

Although they don't sting unless they have to and they don't like to be disturbed we respect that. We don't handle them unless needed and that usually entails politely "scooping" them up in a cup or bowl. You see if they sting they usually loose their stinger & if they loose their stinger they die. The Flat Rock Scorps are known to pinch often where as the Emperors are usually a bit calmer.

Her pattern is Aztec, I was told her color but can not remember it. She does kind of resemble the reverse Okeetee. Although I know he never mentioned that when describing her. I am going back out there next week & will ask him again what type of aztec corn snake she is.
