My Baby Boy Starr Has Passed On

    Hi everyone,
Some of you already know this but I had to make the difficult decision to put Starr to sleep and I did it this morning. His health had been declining lately and he had been having more bad days than good days so I knew it was time. I've been in denial about this the past few months. He had been battling IBD/Colitis for about 2 1/2 years but unfortunately it won.

I was going to wait until Sunday but I just couldn't watch him suffering any more. Life can be so unfair sometimes and he was sick most of his short life. He was only 4 years old. Now he's in a better place and finally pain free and at peace. I'm sure that my Pepper is showing him around Rainbow Bridge and he's meeting all kinds of new friends.

Here's one of the last pictures that I took of him in early June.

It was an extremely hard decision to make but I know in my heart that it was the right one. I just wish that it didn't hurt so much. I'll miss you Starr but I'll never forget you. I you Peepers. RIP sweet boy.

RIP Starr and play hard at the Bridge. I know you're out of your pain now, but you will be missed.

Sweet Starr of golden hue and sky blue eyes
Your time here was so stormy, filled with pain
But now you are beyond that, and only love remains
You were loved, and you were treasured
And even at your sickest, you loved right back
And that, shining Starr, is your legacy:
    Love, endurance, patience and Love
And okay, a few golden hairs scattered across the Universe
    But mostly
    Love

Oh no, Tracey, I had no idea!! Of course I knew about Starr's IBD, but I had no idea it was this bad! I'm so sorry!!

I remember Starr from his very first days here at PT. It's hard to believe he passed on, he was still so young... You're right, sometimes life isn't fair. But for Starr, the time of suffering is over now.

    R.I.P. sweet Starr,
    you will be missed!

I'm so sorry about Starr. He had a rough time, but he knew he was very much loved. Now he'll run free and healthy with all the other RB kitties.

Oh no!! I was hoping it was not this Starr. I am crying here at work and I don't even care who sees me.
Tracey, I also had no idea he was so sick. Gosh, I am so sorry.

    Hugs to you Tracey.

    RIP Starr

Noooooooooo! I gasped when I saw this. I had no idea. I guess I was in denial too. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

It just doesn't seem right that he was sick almost his whole life here on earth. I know that he his happy and healthy now, but I just can't stop crying.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of him. He was blessed to have you as his meowmie.

I am so sorry! I didn't know he was so sick, either. Godspeed to the Bridge, sweet Starr, and peace to your Mom and family back here. Drift through every once in while to make sure they know you're playing well. Prayers & (((hugs))).

    Unhappy

I just wanted to say again how sorry I am you had to make this tough decision, but I agree that Starr let you know it was the right one. He was certainly one lucky cat to have a meomie like you. I don't know anyone that is more dedicated to their furries like you are. You did more than probably anyone else would have to try and fight this disease and Starr knows you loved him. I know how much you loved your peepers and I'm glad he is now painfree. I'm sure Pepper will take good care of him.

You're all giving me major LES here. Looking at his kitten pictures that Candace posted was very hard. I've been in denial about his illness for quite a while and I kept hoping that he'd get better. We both fought hard for the past 2 1/2 years but I was becoming emotionally and physically drained and also very stressed out. He wasn't getting any better and his body was starting to give out. I don't like to keep my animals alive until they're at deaths door. I didn't bother posting about it on PT because I didn't realize how bad it was either.

Another Dear Cat gone long before his time.
Thatwas an incrediby hard decision Tracey , and sad to say the right one as none of us wants our loved ones to be in that kind of pain.
Starrs at the Mandarin now where he got the first plate and the first selection before having his night with Willy at Michaels Inn.
Starrs such a Wonder Cat , and we know he will find a good job with the Animal Angel Army and will have found a spot where you all can be reunited in love.
