    Need Dog breed links!

I am doing really well on my dog trainer training (gee thats still fun to say! ) and the trainer told me tonight that I am doing GREAT and actually AHEAD of the normal timeline on training. I'm so darned excited that she said that!

My only problem is that I am seriously lacking in knowledge of all the different breeds, their temperments, and physical traits. I also want to know what type of problems might be breed specific, whether it be behavioral or physical (such as hip displasia or hearing loss, etc.) Anyone know good links where I can read up on various breeds and get to know all about them?

I don't want breed specific sites - like say a Lab site because thats just going to give me waaaayyy too much info for the moment. I want to get a base knowledge first THEN I can go deeper into the breeds that I'm more likely to see a lot of.

PS: the only fault the trainer said about me tonight is I'm too perky! She said people might take it as being condescending! Whoops! I guess I just need to curb my enthusiasm until I know what on earth I'm talking about, because I'm definately not as perky when talking to people about cats. She said to pretend their dog is a cat when I'm talking to them

Maybe try www.akc.org ? They have a majority of popular breeds.

That was what I thought too. They cover a lot of breeds. You then
could look up any other breeds you run into while training.
