    3 to the vet today...routine

Monte, Amber and Lucas (my 3 oldest cats) had their "yearly" today.

Monte got a rabies shot. He will be looking at a dental cleaning (and 1 canine tooth pulled) in about a year. He held his weight and is in good health.

Amber had blood taken for a full work up (because she is on prednisone for her stomatitis), lost about 1 pound (which in her case doesn't show ), and won't get her boster shots until December of this year. I will find out about the blood work tomorrow.

Lucas looks great for a cat who constantly has soft stools. He held his weight, his coat is in fabulous condition, he isn't painful when the vet palpates him. teeth, eyes, ears.....all look good. We will postpone an ultrasound as they are often inconclusive and only lead to MORE tests that can be inconclusive. So as long as he isn't SICK, we will keep him on his pancrenzyme and monitor him. He will also get his booster shots in December.

So all in all, a good day at the vet's.

    Wonderful news, Jen!

I remember you had mentioned an ultrasound for Lucas and I was interested to see what they found since CJ continues with the loose stools also - even though we're on our second bag of SD Z/D. I've been thinking maybe an ultrasound was in the cards for him when what to my surprise do I find yesterday? A Cracker Jack tootsie roll. There was still diarrhea around it, but I figured it's a start. Found another one this morning so maybe......just maybe.......<fingers crossed>

Glad to hear your gang is all healthy and doing well.

Sounds like a good visit! I didn't realise that Monte was one of your older cats. He looks a sprightly young thing!

I'm amazed! Some cats just don't show their age. It's sooo unfair!

Amber's blood tests results came back with everything looking great. SO, closing in on 10 years of age, with stomatitis in her mouth, and prednisone on and off for more that a year, has done her no harm. Tough little lady.

Good outcome. Hope they all continue in good health for many more years. It's always such a relief, isn't it? I get so upset while the checks are being done. Cleo goes on Friday for her three-monthly now she's on the medication. Blood tests etc, urine too if Dr Catt can get a sample (yes, that's really her name...)
