Absolutely, I would have answered you sooner but had to re-read from Post #1. Most certainly one of top ten ever (for the laughs and memories).

Mm-hmm ... And you fix a hot dog by leaving off the ketchup (at least if you're in Chicago).

But back to the topic -- nowadays I just go to the hospital cafeteria where they have hard-boiled eggs on the salad bar almost every day.

I was never a fan of saurkraut until I came to Italy. Here, at least in the north, not sure about the south, but hot dogs are served with saurkraut & can't forget beer. I don't like beer either except 1 kind from Belgium called Hoegaarden so I am a difficult one to please. LOL

I haven't been paying attention to the latest infomercials lately. I thought 'flat-bottomed' eggs to be a real novelty.

ROFL!! I came back to this funny thread for help with getting the shells off of hard-boiled eggs without losing too much of the white Thanks for the tip, lbaker! Buckingham Fountain is off for the season so I can't run under cold water anyway.

I tried something new, I put a teaspoon or so of baking soda in the water I was booing eggs in the last time - supposed to make the shells easier to peel off. I normally don;t have a problem with that anyway, but it can't hurt!

Were the eggs easier to peel?

They were easy to peel, though I never usually have a problem with that! One of these days I will do a true trial - 2 pans of water, eggs at the same freshness level ...
